The City of Spanish Fort utilizes a Mayor-Council form of government. Both the Mayor and Council are elected by the people to four year terms. The Mayor is elected citywide, and five council members are elected by Districts. The Mayor sits on the City Council and has an equal vote.
City Council Meetings
The City Council of the City of Spanish Fort holds two regular meetings each month. These meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month. If a meeting date should fall on a holiday, the meeting will be rescheduled. All meetings are held at The Gathering Place, Spanish Fort Methodist Church Prodisee Center, 6530 Spanish Fort Boulevard, unless notice is given that the meeting will be held in another public place within the month. City Council Meeting Agendas and Work Sessions
For effective time management, the City Council will conduct meetings as efficiently as possible by following a prepared agenda. Agendas will be reviewed at a Work Session of the City Council at 5:00 p.m. on the Monday preceding the scheduled City Council meeting. The Work Sessions are held at City Hall, 7581 Spanish Fort Boulevard.
