To spread Christmas Spirit to the residents of Spanish Fort and the surrounding communities, the City of Spanish Fort hosts its annual "Spirit of Christmas" Parade
on the first Saturday of each December, rolling at 9:00 a.m., at the beautiful Eastern Shore Centre located on State Highway 181, Exit 38 off Interstate 10.
This family-oriented parade is led by the prestigious Daphne-Spanish Fort Air Force JROTC Color Guard and Cadets, followed by the award-winning Spanish Fort High School Marching Band, Drill Team and Cheerleaders, Miss Spanish Fort High School and the Grand Marshal. Past participants have included area and national dignitaries, the Dogwood Trail Maids, Mrs. Senior Baldwin County, representatives of Alabama's Distinguished Young Women, Little Miss Spanish Fort and Tiny Miss Spanish Fort, Baldwin County Strawberry Festival Queen and Miss Faulkner State Community College. Adding to the holiday cheer are area Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, various talented dancing troupes, floats decorated by church and business organizations, and everything from belly dancers to unicyclists, all with holiday-themed parade throws. Of course, the "Spirit of Christmas" Parade
would not be complete without a visit from that most famous jolly old elf, Santa Claus, arriving with a little assistance from the Spanish Fort Fire Department!
Acceptance of Parade Applications begins each October. Floats, marching bands, choral groups, dancers, baton twirlers, walking groups, scouting troops and school clubs are all encouraged to participate, as well as church groups, social, professional and military organizations. All entries and throws shall be holiday-themed and will include signage which identifies their group. There is no application fee for participation. Please review the Parade Application for Rules and Guidelines.
