Residents of Spanish Fort, Malbis, and Daphne are asked to be aware of the upcoming closure for the Diverging Diamond Interchange. The closure will begin Sunday, June 28th, and extend through Wednesday, July 1st. If possible, make plans to use an alternate route. Please drive safely and be mindful of all traffic personnel and equipment.

CITY OF SPANISH FORT NOW ACCEPTING BIDS FOR COMMUNITY CENTER STANDBY GENERATOR PROJECT

Sealed bids, subject to the conditions contained herein, will be received by the CITY OF SPANISH FORT, ALABAMA, until 4:00 P.M. (CST). on Thursday, June 4, 2020, and then at that time publicly opened and read aloud at the Spanish Fort Community Center located at 7361 Spanish Fort Boulevard, Spanish Fort, Alabama 36527, for furnishing all labor, materials, and performing all work required for PROJECT No. SF-2020-000-001, SPANISH FORT COMMUNITY CENTER GENERATOR PROJECT, CITY OF SPANISH FORT,
BALDWIN COUNTY, STATE OF ALABAMA.
The project will require the installation of a new Standby Generator. Scope of work includes installation of new owner supplied Generator and installation of a new Generator and contractor supplied Transfer Switch, including all concrete foundation work, asphalt repair work, sodding, curbing work to place all areas of the project in as good or better condition after the project as the condition prior to the project. CITY OF SPANISH FORT MAKES SAFEST CITY IN ALABAMA LIST

This is a great honor and is the result of the hard work of Spanish Fort Police Department, Spanish Fort Fire and Rescue, local government, our citizens, and many more! SPECIAL CALLED PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

The Spanish Fort Planning Commission will hold a special called meeting at 6:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2020 in order to consider a Site Plan Revision for "Spanish Fort Professional Center". Due to the current situation regarding the CDC guidelines for social distancing regarding to the COVID-19 virus, this meeting will be held remotely. CITY OF SPANISH FORT DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY

The City of Spanish Fort declared a State of Emergency related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, effective Monday, March 16th, at 6:20 p.m. All City facilities will be closed to the public beginning Wednesday, March 18th, at 8 a.m. until further notice. All City events, programs, rentals, and committee meetings are canceled, with the exception of City Council and Planning Commission meetings. In accordance with the most recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our community and our employees, the City of Spanish Fort is making the following changes to our daily operations:
Municipal Court for March 26th is canceled, per administrative order from the Supreme Court of Alabama. Individuals and attorneys will be informed of their new court date.
The Spanish Fort Public Library will be closed to the public. Drive-thru book drop-off is still available, and all late fees will be waived during this time.
The Spanish Fort Police Department lobby will be closed to the public. Officers can still be reached via the non-emergency dispatch number (251-626-4914). In the event of an emergency, call 911.
The Spanish Fort Senior Center will be closed to the public, including the exercise facility.
While public gatherings are discouraged, public parks will be open to use at your own risk. Bathrooms located at these parks will be locked during this time to help prevent the spread of germs.
CITY OF SPANISH FORT MOVING TO WASTEPRO, EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 31, 2019
Effective December 30, 2019, Waste Pro of Alabama will be the new provider for weekly garbage, recycling and yard waste services for the City of Spanish Fort. Residents of Spanish Fort can expect customer notifications announcing service day changes and general Waste Pro services information in their mailboxes around November 29. Current Advance Disposal waste bins will be picked up on the last day of service, December 28; and Waste Management garbage bins will be delivered the week of December 16 through December 20. Each Waste Pro bin delivered will have an informational card attached.
