MEET YOUR CITY COUNCIL

The City of Spanish Fort utilizes a Mayor-Council form of government. Both the Mayor and Council are elected by the people to four year terms. The Mayor is elected citywide, and five council members are elected by Districts. The Mayor sits on the City Council and has an equal vote.

CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS

The City Council of the City of Spanish Fort holds two regular meetings each month. These meetings are held at 6:00 pm on the first and third Mondays of each month. If a meeting date should fall on a holiday, the meeting will be rescheduled. All meetings are held at the Spanish Fort Community Center unless notice is given that the meeting will be held in another public place within the month. Special meetings may be called, or meetings may be rescheduled or canceled, in which case notices will be posted under the Public Notices section of this website.  The 2024 City Council meeting schedule may be viewed here.  The Junior City Council regular meeting schedule may be viewed here.  
 

CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDAS AND WORK SESSIONS

For effective time management, the City Council conducts meetings as efficiently as possible by following a prepared agenda. Agendas are reviewed in a work session which begins at 4:00 pm prior to the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. City Council work sessions are held in the Conference Room at the Spanish Fort Community Center unless notice is given that the work session will be held in another public place within the month.  City Council agendas and agenda packets may be viewed here.

To locate your district and council person, visit the Spanish Fort Zoning Map and select Voting Districts on the Layers options.
